Temporary Local Rules, Heat Policy & Guidelines for the Suspension of Play
TEMPORARY LOCAL RULES
Drainage Works 2nd, 11th & 14th Holes
All drainage works on the 2nd, 11th and 14th holes are to be treated as GUR. A player whose ball comes to rest in, or whose stance is impeded by, irregular turf surrounding the drainage lines MAY take relief in accordance with Rule 25.
New Irrigation Works 11th Hole
All NEW irrigation works on the 11th hole are to be treated as GUR. A player whose ball comes to rest in, or whose stance is impeded by, irregular turf surrounding the new irrigation lines MAY take relief in accordance with Rule 25.
Through the green, all areas of corings should be treated as GUR. A player whose ball comes to rest in, or whose stance is impeded by corings may take relief in accordance with Rule 25.
Accidental Movement of a Ball on a Putting Green
Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1 are modified as follows:
When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment. The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1. This Local Rule applies only when the player’s ball or ball-marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental.
Note: If it is determined that a player’s ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water or some other natural cause such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball-marker moved in such circumstances is replaced.
Wrong Score for Hole
The Exception to Rule 6-6d is modified as follows:
If a competitor returns a score for any hole lower than actually taken due to failure to include one or more penalty strokes that, before returning their score card, they did not know they had incurred, they are not disqualified. In such circumstances, the competitor incurs the penalty prescribed by the applicable Rule, but there is no additional penalty for a breach of Rule 6-6d. This Exception does not apply when the applicable penalty is disqualification from the competition.
Through the green a player may lift and clean the ball without penalty. Before lifting the ball the player must first mark its position and place within a hand span. Once the ball has been placed and comes to rest it is deemed to be in play and must not be replaced. If a ball when placed comes to rest on the spot on which it is placed, and it subsequently moves, there is no penalty and the ball must be played as it lies, unless the provisions of any other rule apply.
