World Handicapping System

The World Handicap System (WHS) will take full effect in Australia on 30 January 2020.  The WHS involves less change for Australia than it does for any other country – click on the link below for a full summary of the changes relevant to Australian golfers.

Golf Australia’s national computerised handicapping service (GOLF Link) will be taken offline from 27 to 30 January 2020.  During this time, GA Handicaps will be recalculated using all of the new WHS regulations.  The Club may schedule teams type competitions over this period OR if handicap events are played they can only be submitted when GOLF Link resumes on Thursday 30 January.

The Club is considering the impact of the increase to 54 of the WHS GA Handicaps.  The current maximum DAILY handicaps of 36 for Men and 45 for Women, and the potential ramifications if increased, are being reviewed by the Club’s Match & Handicap Committee.
