Temporary Local Rules

To be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf & the Local Rules on the rear of the scorecard

Artificial Measuring Devices
A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.

Temporary Protective Ropes, Hoops & Signs
All temporary protective ropes, poles holding ropes, hoops and signs are treated as immovable obstructions & relief may be taken in accordance with Rule 24-2.  If a ball strikes the Temporary Protective Ropes, the Holding Poles, the Hoops or Signs the stroke must be cancelled and replayed without penalty (See Rule 20-5)

Hazard Markers 10th & 17th Holes
When playing the 10th Hole the Yellow markers that border the left hand side of the 17th are used to indicate that it is a Water Hazard.
When playing the 17th Hole the Red that border the left hand side of the 17th are used to indicate that it is a Lateral Water Hazard.

Drainage Works 11th & 14th Holes
All drainage works on the 11th and 14th holes are to be treated as GUR.  A player whose ball comes to rest in, or whose stance is impeded by, irregular turf surrounding the drainage lines MAY take relief in accordance with Rule 25.

Drainage Works 2nd Hole – PLAY PROHIBITED
All new drainage works on the 2nd hole are to be treated as GUR.  A player whose ball comes to rest in, or whose stance is impeded by, irregular turf surrounding the drainage lines MUST take relief in accordance with Rule 25.

Cores
Through the green, all areas of corings should be treated as GUR. A player whose ball comes to rest in, or whose stance is impeded by corings may take relief in accordance with Rule 25.

Preferred Lies
Through the green a player may lift and clean the ball without penalty.  Before lifting the ball the player must first mark its position and place within a hand span.  Once the ball has been placed and comes to rest it is deemed to be in play and must not be replaced. If a ball when placed comes to rest on the spot on which it is placed, and it subsequently moves, there is no penalty and the ball must be played as it lies, unless the provisions of any other rule apply.
