Local Rules
TEMPORARY LOCAL RULES

  • Garden Beds
    Garden Beds are defined by surrounding borders and relief may be taken under Rule 25-1

  • Artificial Measuring Devices
    Artificial measuring devices such as GPS, distance finders etc. are permitted to be used during competition play at BMGC.

  • Winter Rules
    Until further notice preferred lies has been introduced which allows the player to lift, clean and place their ball through the green. Before lifting the ball, the player must mark its position and place the ball within 6 inches not nearer the hole. The player is only permitted to place the ball once and will be deemed to be in play after this action. If after placing,the ball subsequently moves, the ball is to be played as it lies with no penalty incurred.

  • Buggy use
    To maintain the quality of putting surface Berwick Montuna Golf Club does not permit pull buggies to be taken across greens. Members are requested to walk their buggies around the side of the green leaving at a point on route toward the next tee.

  • Temporary Protective Ropes
    All temporary protective ropes and poles holding ropes are treated as immovable obstructions and relief may be taken in accordance with Rule 24-2. If a ball strikes the Temporary Protective Ropes or the Holding Poles the stroke must be cancelled and replayed without penalty (See Rule 20-5).
